Predicted Lineup for Arsenal vs. Dinamo Zagreb

Arsenal is set to host Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League tonight with a chance to finish in the top eight of the UEFA Champions League league phase of the competition. Despite their stuttering form in the Premier League, Arsenal has played six games in the competition, winning four, drawing one and losing one to Internazionale.

Without further ado, here’s a predicted lineup for today’s game.

Defense

GoalkeeperDavid Raya: With Neto Murara clearly unfit due to lack of any action whatsoever in his disappointing loan spell at Arsenal, I will expect David Raya between the sticks against Dinamo Zagreb.

Right BackThomas Partey: As disappointing as this selection is, Arsenal is lacking in the right back department with Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu sidelined through injury. The only available right back available for selection is Jurrien Timber, but he will be needed alongside Gabriel at the heart of the Arsenal defense.

Center Back PairingGabriel and Jurrien Timber: With William Saliba injured, Arsenal deployed Gabriel and Timber for the first time as a pairing over the weekend. Clearly the gaffer doesn’t trust in Jakub Kiwior enough to pair him alongside Gabriel, so we should expect to see Gabriel and Timber together again.

Left BackMyles Lewis-Skelly: Despite the availability of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney and to a certain degree, Riccardo Calafiori, I will expect Lewis-Skelly to keep his place on the side. He has been very immense since integrating himself to the matchday squad and I expect to see him maintain his progress.

Midfield

Anchor Midfielder Jorginho: Despite his limited game time, I’d expect Jorginho to play at the base of the midfield and we will make his mark with the usual progressive passes.

Left ‘8’ – Declan Rice: He has been in and out of the team in recent times, but his energy, running and most importantly, set piece prowess will come in handy in tonight’s game.

Attacking Midfielder – Martin Odegaard: The Arsenal captain has been in a patchy form of late, which was culminated in his penalty miss against Manchester United. The Gunners will expect their leader to strut his stuff on the pitch tonight and generate a lot of chances for his teammates.

Forwards

Left Winger – Leandro Trossard: The Belgian winger has seen an upturn in his form, and he will be looking to capitalize on that tonight.

Right Winger – Gabriel Martinelli: He has scored a couple of goals in recent weeks and will be hoping to build on that.

Center Forward – Kai Havertz: With the paucity of options and Arsenal’s lack of activity in the transfer market, we can only look to Super Kai to come up with the goods. A goal or two is what the doctor ordered.
