Ipswich Preview: Keep Up With the Chasing Pack

Arsenal host Ipswich Town with the opportunity to return to second place in the Premier League and put some pressure on the runaway leaders, Liverpool.

This is expected to be a relatively easy game on paper but Mikel Arteta’s men need to turn up and come up with the goods against an Ipswich side that is currently 19th in the Premier League table. The Tractor Boys have lost four of their last five games and are expected to be on the end of some bashing from Arsenal, all things considered. Ipswich has a knack for attempting to play the ball from the back but they struggle heavily with it, and exploited that terribly, running out as 4-0 winners.

To team news, Mikel Arteta provided some updates yesterday and there is no progress regarding the availability of Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling. Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are long-term absentees, but we might be able to see Oleksandr Zinchenko in action after he missed five games he should have been available for. Regarding the suspension tight rope, Gabriel Jesus and Jurrien Timber are one game away from a suspension, but via the Premier League rules, it would go to 10 games if Arsenal play 19 games in the league.

For the visitors, Ipswich, they are set to welcome their key forward, Liam Delap, from his suspension, but they will be without club captain, Sam Morsy, after he accumulated five yellow cards in the course of the season, earning a well-deserved suspension. George Hirst is out with a knee injury while former Manchester United player, Axel Tuanzebe, is out with a hamstring injury. New signing from Luton Town, Chiedozie Ogbene, is out for the rest of the campaign with a torn Achilles tendon.

We would expect Gabriel Jesus to continue his great goalscoring form and with Saka out of action, his teammates need to come up with the goods.
