The Bruins will be without defenseman Jonathan Aspirot when they take on the Predators in Nashville on Thursday night. Aspirot, who played sparingly in the third period of Boston’s 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday because of an illness, did not travel to Nashville for the one-game trip.
Aspirot’s absence means the return to the lineup of Haverhill’s Jordan Harris, who has not played in an NHL game since he broke his ankle against Florida Panthers on Oct. 21. He did a conditioning stint in Providence in late January but since then he has been practicing with the team.
“He’s been working really hard,” coach Marco Sturm told reporters in Nashville. “He’s been showing up every night with a good attitude. I think he played very good games in Providence and he’s been outstanding here in practice. He deserves to be in. Hopefully he’s going to be good tonight.”
According to the morning skate rushes, Henri Jokiharju remains on the outside while Nikita Zadorov bumps up to play with Charlie McAvoy and Harris was paired with Andrew Peeke while the forward lines remain the same. But with the trade deadline coming on Friday at 3 p.m., we’ll see if that lineup remains the same at 8 p.m. puck drop.
Joonas Korpisalo, who started the first game out of the Olympic break with a 38-save effort in a win over Columbus, will get the start.
