Group of teens allegedly kick man into train at MBTA Back Bay station

A 27-year-old man was injured after allegedly being kicked into a train by a group of teens at the MBTA Back Bay station on Tuesday.

The group of juveniles and the man got into a verbal altercation at around 6:46 p.m., according to MBTA Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan.

“The dispute turned physical near and on the platform area,” Sullivan wrote in an email to the Herald. The juveniles allegedly tried to strike and kick the victim.

“At one point the victim was kicked, the force of the kick propelled the victim backwards as an MBTA train was departing,” Sullivan wrote. “It is my understanding the victim did contact the train.”

The group fled the scene and EMS was requested.

According to Sullivan, the victim sustained an injury to his forehead, but he was conscious and alert at the scene.

MBTA Police are investigating the incident.
