As NFL training camps continue through the first full week of practices, injuries have only mounted, including among some notable stars.
The numbers increased this week amid initial padded practices, and the list included everything from potentially season-ending injuries to ones that might keep a player out for a few games. That’s all in addition to star players already making headlines over prior injuries, such as Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford for back soreness and Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson over a hamstring strain.
Here’s a look at notable injuries around the NFL.
Rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston injured his right knee during a noncontact drill Tuesday. He didn’t resume practicing with tests pending at the time. It’s a hit to the Bills’ secondary if the 2025 first-round draft pick can’t play.
Buffalo already saw hamstring injuries to wide receivers Curtis Samuel, Elijah Moore, and Kaden Prather. Receiver Tyrell Shavers has an ankle injury, and tight end Dalton Kincaid has a knee injury.
In addition, Bills linebackers Dorian Williams and Terrel Bernard sat out on Monday due to leg injuries. Bills kicker Tyler Bass has been dealing with pelvic soreness.
Running back MarShawn Lloyd sustained a noncontact groin injury on Tuesday, and he didn’t finish the practice session. In addition, wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks had calf soreness and didn’t finish practice Monday.
Fellow wideout Christian Watson is still rehabbing a knee injury, left guard Aaron Banks remains out because of back problems, fellow offensive lineman John Williams also is still out due to back problems, and defensive end Collin Oliver has a hamstring injury.
Second-year wide receiver Malik Nabers injured his shoulder on Tuesday during a drill, and he didn’t return. He has also been dealing with an ongoing toe injury.
Defensive tackle D.J. Davidson also went down with a hamstring injury and didn’t return. The Giants also had a scare with safety Tyler Nubin over a potential rib injury, but he resumed practice.
New York has multiple players with injuries, including offensive tackle Andrew Thomas’s foot, wideout Jalin Hyatt’s leg, cornerback Tre Hawkins’ groin, and receiver Wan’Dale Robinson’s leg.
Cornerback Caelen Carson sustained a knee hyperextension on Tuesday, and he’s expected to miss 4–6 weeks. Wide receiver Parris Campbell sprained his MCL, and he didn’t have a clear recovery time as of Tuesday.
Dallas received some good news on the injury front as left offensive tackle Tyler Guyton only had a bone fracture instead of an ACL tear per ESPN’s Todd Archer. Guyton will be out 4–6 weeks.
Offensive tackle Terence Steele is still recovering from a high ankle sprain, and he could miss regular season action. The Cowboys already took a hit on the offensive line with an injury to guard Robert Jones earlier in camp.
Third-year cornerback Christian Gonzalez sustained a leg injury on Tuesday. While he came off the field on his own, the extent of the injury is not known.
Wide receiver DeVonta Smith didn’t practice on Monday due to back tightness, and his return date is uncertain. Receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. left practice early due to an unspecified injury on Tuesday.
Besides Stafford, rookie Chris Paul Jr. (not related to the NBA’s Chris Paul) has sat out of late due to a calf injury. Cornerback Akhello Witherspoon also has a calf injury and remains day-to-day. Meanwhile, left offensive tackle Alaric Jackson is still recovering from blood clots, so he remains limited in practice.
Wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown sustained a leg injury on Tuesday and was carted off. Fellow wideout Xavier Worthy sustained a head injury, and receiver Skyy Moore endured a hamstring injury, both on Tuesday.
