3M Open Subpar picks: Favorite bets of the week

Anyone who has ever traveled overseas knows that jet lag is real — and can be a real drag. Just getting back to a reasonable daily sleep schedule is tough enough — let alone trying to perform at the highest level in professional golf.

But PGA Tour players are used to the week-to-week travel grind, and Subpar co-host Colt Knost isn’t about to let the rigors of a trans-Atlantic journey mar his hopes for his Fanatics Sportsbook bet of the week for the 3M Open in Minnesota.

Who does Knost like? Wyndham Clark, who finished T4 at last week’s Open Championship, which he capped with a final-round 65.

“Nice juicy odds coming off a really good week: +160,” Knost said, after selecting Clark for a top-20 finish this week. “I normally don’t like taking guys that played the Open Championship and have to play the next week, just with jet lag and all the quick turnaround, but Wyndham Clark just played phenomenal for three straight rounds. I know he wants to keep this going and try to make a push for the Ryder Cup, get up in those FedEx Cup standings.”

Drew Stoltz opted to go in a different direction, selecting Jake Knapp for his top-20 bet at +200.

“He had the close call at the Rocket [Classic],” Stoltz said. “About a month ago was fourth there, and then he’s finished right around 20th in his next two, John Deere, Scottish as well. Having a week off, getting to rest, coming back, playing up here. I like Jake Knapp plus two bills.”

Sam Burns is the betting favorite (+1600) to win the 3M Open, with Chris Gotterup (+1800) and Maverick McNealy (+2000) trailing him in the odds to round out the top three.
