Manchester United’s attempt to sign Brentford attacker Bryan Mbuemo is finally heading to a positive conclusion. Reports from the media stated that Man United has finally reached an agreement with the Bees for Mbuemo’s transfer, worth around 70 million Pounds.
The Red Devils’ long-awaited transfer move for the Cameroon international is finally heading to an end, a pretty long negotiation. Man United have already started their move to sign Mbueme since the start of June, but talks with Brentford were not always smooth.
Despite having only one year left in his current deal, Brentford are not willing to give any discount and continues to ask for a fee worth 70 million pounds. After several failed bid attempts, United finally agreed to pay what the Bees are asking for.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Man U will be paying a fixed fee of 65 million pounds plus 6 million in add-ons, paid in four instalments. Mbuemo will be signing a five-year deal until 20230 at Man United with a one-year option.
Despite their success in finally securing Mbuemo, United’s struggle to get a deal without overspending remains an issue. The Red Devils continue to pay over the odds for their targets, which potentially puts them in trouble regarding future transfer deals.
Man United will now hope to offload some of their players before they look to make another move in the market for a striker.
