What is the New York Essentials Pass?
The new Essentials Pass New York is one of the Go City discount passes for NYC and, once purchased, gives you free access to three of the 12 most popular attractions in NYC. With the New York Essentials Pass, you can visit one of four observation decks and two additional attractions.
You don’t have to decide in advance which attractions you want to visit. You can decide on site depending on the weather or your mood!
The great thing about this pass is the flexibility it offers. You can spread your visits to your desired attractions over 30 days without reducing your savings.
How does the New York Essentials Pass work?
- After booking, you will receive your personal pass number, which you can use to log in to the free Go City app.
- When you are in New York, simply show your New York Essentials Pass at the respective attractions …
- … it will be scanned at the ticket counter and you will receive your admission ticket.
- That’s it – you’re ready to start sightseeing!
Which attractions are included in the New York Essentials Pass?
The Essentials Pass includes a total of 12 of the most popular attractions and tours in New York. You can choose three of them.
Choose one of these observation decks:
- Empire State Building
- Top of the Rock
- Edge Hudson Yards
- One World Observatory
PLUS two of these attractions/tours:
- 9/11 Memorial Museum
- American Museum of Natural History
- Museum of Modern Art

How much does the Essentials Pass New York cost?
As the pass will only go online this week, prices are yet to be announced.
Is the New York Essentials Pass worth it?
Whether the Essentials Pass is really worth it depends on which sights and tours you have on your itinerary. As a general rule, the more expensive the individual tickets for the attractions, the greater your savings.
Go City guarantees you savings with this pass. If you don’t save money with the Essentials Pass, Go City will refund the difference!
