Cognizant Classic Subpar picks: Top-10 bets to watch

Why is Shane Lowry the betting favorite at the Cognizant Classic this week? That’s easy. Just look at his recent finishes on the Champion Course at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Lowry, the 2019 Open champion, has finished 4th, 5th and 2nd, respectively, in his last three trips to PGA National. He’s made three starts this season, his last a T39 at the Genesis. But the start before he was the runner-up at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which followed a missed cut at the Farmers to start the year.

Now Vegas is betting Lowry can get back on track at a place where he’s had good vibes, and Lowry is also Subpar co-host Colt Knost’s Fanatics Sportsbook bet of the week. Knost picked him to finish top 10, which has odds of +250.

Co-host Drew Stoltz also made a top-10 bet, going with Daniel Berger (+330 to top 10).

“He’s back playing really good golf,” Stoltz said. “He was second in Phoenix, 12th at Torrey, been great at PGA National. Had a huge lead [at PGA National] just a couple of years ago where it didn’t work out for him, but he also just plays really well in Florida in general.”

Lowry is +2000 to win, ahead of Russell Henley and Sungjae Im, both at +2200. Berger has the fourth-best odds to win at +2400.
