A dead body has been found on a beach in Cornwall and the incident is being treated as ‘unexplained’.
The person’s body was found at around 1.50pm on Saturday on Downderry Beach, near Looe.
While the death is being treated as unexplained it is not thought to be suspicious.
Enquiries are being carried out to find out the cause of the death and to establish the next of kin.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: ‘Police were called around 1.50pm on Saturday following the discovery of a person’s body at Downderry Beach, Torpoint.
‘The death is being treated as unexplained but not currently thought suspicious.
‘Enquiries are being conducted to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, the identity of the person and to trace their next of kin.’
